     I thought the same thing...  VERY vaguely, you could say that the plan   
   originally was to wipe out all humans.

     It appeared from "The Plan" that nobody expected the Galactica to   
   survive.  It was supposed to be wiped out with everything else.  So   
   there went the grand Plan.  Cavil was pretty irritated that it survived.   
      
     The only thing that seemed to be planned was the initial attack.
