So changes in       > the story line are still possible until we hear from RDM and company       > that they have made a final lockdown of the BSG universe narrative.       > Have they?       ----       No, but you don't need to. I think having a younger Cavil is your       wish as to how the story line should had went, just like mine was to       have a updated "Galactica 1980": "Galactica 2010" The Colonials and       the good Cylons in addition the Sharon Agathon the other Sharons, the       Leobens, Sixes and the last remaining D'anna Biers along with an       alive, reformed and redeemed Sharon Valerii (even if Athena and Helo       have a real hard time putting aside what she did) who sided with us       struggle to get second Earth's (that is our Earth) technology up to       speed. Gaius Baltar is doing his best including trying to adapt Viper       and DRADIS and hyperdrive technology to Earth tech (but some hard       headed Earth scientists insist his tech is impossible because his       "theories" can't be experimentally reproduced and go against known-to       Earth's scientist-physics). There are some stranded enemy Cylons on       Earth including dozens of Cavils, Dorals and Simons try to wreck the       plans of the Colonials. They too struggle with Earth's somewhat       backward technology to recreate Resurrection and jump Technology and       get into contact with the rest of the Cavil Cylons on the other side       of the Galaxy (where the Galactica did its last jump from, breaking       her back in arriving) who still don't know where second Earth is.       Incidentally, there are no Super Scouts in sight and the few Cylon       Centurions that are still around (most destroyed each other; some       fighting for the humans some fighting for Cavil) aren't disabled by       microwaves, including from microwave ovens. ;-)              But alas RDM chose not to go that route LOL! Instead, he decided to       make the Colonials partly the direct ancestors of us with us being       part Cylon-and I'm fine with it of course, it his story. I believe in       letting the story teller tell the story as he/shes fit as opposed to       calling him/her an idiot over a plot point some in the audience don't       like (if I don't like it I quitely tune out). That is the story he       wanted to tell, just like the one with humans and Cylons falling out       again in a cycle as if that is the natural thing to do to keep       repeating that mistake. No Grand Plan need apply, just human-and       machine-foolishness. In the Colonies version it all started with a       grieving father trying to have his daughter back is how the Cylons       gained consciousness and resented being slaves and they responded in       the same childish way Ben did when he blew up the Maglev train to       make his point except on a much grander scale. No Cavil needed to       orchestrate this first time around.       >       > But I guess my final question then would be: in "The Plan" just who is       > Cavil gloating over sitting in their bathtubs two weeks before the       > second cylon war?       ----       The spare bodies for the Final Five, just like Ellen had a body her       consciousness could go to when she died after taking poison on New       Caprica the others did too, have extra bodies that is like any other       Cylon. There just wasn't other copies alive at the time so there was       only one Tyrol, one Anders, one Tory, One Ellen and one Tigh.              Two weeks before the attack Anders was a star Pyramid player with the       Caprica Buccaneers; Colonel Tigh was getting ready to retire with his       friend of 20 years Commander Adama (he was in the Colonies at least       that long likely a lot longer) and be with his wife Ellen full time       who was planted in the Colonies for 30 years; Tyrol was getting ready       to help put Galactica into retirement and then perhaps either leave       the service or get a new assignment with his (open) secret girlfriend       Sharon Valerii (as far as he knew) and Tory Foster was a low level       Federalist Party precinct captain and Pollster until she was blown       off the road by the outer reaches of a nuclear blast. She was       probably the last to be placed into Colonies and she was easier to       infiltrate since apparently in the Fleet no one knew her before the       attack.              As for it supposed to be a mistake to make Cavil so old I don't think       it was. Wether or not RDM had a specific step by step plan for the       series or just a broad general outline to be filled in as they went       there didn't have to be some grand scheme to involve the Final Five       in Caprica's own mistake. To say so would assume that he must had       wanted it that way later and there is no evidence to say that he did.       The point of it happened before it will happen again seems to be that       machine and man would have a falling out, outside interference is not       needed, at least not the first time.       --       ----->Hunter              "No man in the wrong can stand up against        a fellow that's in the right and keeps on acomin'."               -----William J.
