   Well it was: "Love thy neighbor", "Turn the other cheek" etc. You are    
   forgiven of all your sins if you believe in Me no matter what you    
   did. That wasn't the view of the Pagan religions which were very pro    
   vengeance. The Old Testament fire and brimstone Hebrew God was more    
   like the Greeco-Roman gods who lied to screw with us mere mortals as    
   their favorite past time but the New testament God through Jesus is    
   more forgiving. Not to say many men aren't interested in loving one's    
   neighbor and forgiveness it is just that it is something that would    
   be more appealing to women, or at least would attract more women than    
   most religions at the time.
