   The invasion of Kuwait was dealt with in a much shorter time.  Still, with   
   Afghanistan it seems rather silly to believe that we can 'solve the problem'   
   when Russia couldn't do it in a decade.  If anything, the populous is now   
   fully trained to wait out and erode any occupying force.  China outlasted   
   numerous invasions from the north in the same way over the course of   
   history.
