   I wasn't talking about just little kids. Many students get to (and even   
   through) high school without knowing such basic things.   
      
   "Boiling an egg" was just an example, but EVERYONE should be taught how to   
   prepare basic meals since eating is one of the neccessary requires of our   
   lives - reading Shakespeare (again, just one example) is nowhere near   
   necessary.
