No idea about Abrams' silly new (so-called) "Star Trek", but lens flare,
after decades of movie makers trying to reduce and remove real lens flare,
it is now apparently the latest new toy on the CGI block ... and it's
over-used, annoying, distracting, and simply wrong in most movies. The Star
Wars Prequel Trilogy also used it. :-(
