   Despite what many people like to believe, there are countries outside of   
   America.  :-)   
      
   It's near impossible to find a DVD / VHS combo box (that's DVD player, not   
   recorder) in the shops here in New Zealand. There are a couple of chain   
   stores that still have them and you can get them in a few more online   
   stores. There's only two models left around, one from LG and one from   
   Samsung.   
      
   Of course the other choice is to bypass DVD entirely and get a box that   
   includes Blu-ray ... then there's the gimmick of 3D.   
      
   Then there's the problem that the Government has decided to switch off the   
   analogue broadcasting system in a couple of years time, so that means   
   buying new TVs or Freeview set-top boxes to get the digital signal ... and   
   that also means the recorder we get will have to include Freeview ability   
   too.
