   The good news is whenever the discussion reaches this stage it   
   reflects the last refuge of ego-defending subjective groupthink.   
   That's a noun, "groupthink," and two modifiers, "ego-defending"   
   and "subjective."  It's important to appreciate all three in order   
   to understand what happens in a Usenet discussion like this.   
      
   My response to Whiskers will further address that and several   
   other points, hopefully later tonight.  In the meantime, there'll
