I agree. I've been interested in the arguments in this thread. I've seen
people argue that Six was actually being compassionate when she killed the
infant. I've seen people argue that the cylons and colonials are moral
equivalents. I've seen people opine that the cylons only attacked because
the colonials themselves were planning a sneak attack. Etc...etc...
The 'rape' of P-Six and the attempted rape of C-Boomer has received an
amazingly viceral reaction - noticibly more visceral than the mass rape of
human women occuring on Caprica. The torture and spacing Leoben received a
proverbial yawn. I have news for the peanut gallery - dead is worse than
raped.
I think you hit it on the head with the point that it undermines moral and
social values. The acts of the Pegasus crew are much more damaging to them
then they are to a cylon. We don't even know if 'rape' or torture in
general even means anything to a cylon. There is good evidence that a
cylon can turn 'off' pain and suffering as Leoben appeared to do during the
water torture.
Many posters accept at face value the outward appearance of P-Six, when we
know that humano-cylons are academy award caliber actors. How many thought
that Adama was leavaing a human behind at Ragnor Anchorage and were
surprised to see that he was, in fact, a cylon.

Let's not forget that P-Six killed seven of the Pegasus crew. We don't
knwo the circumstances. For all we know, P-Six was initially kept in a
relatively civilized manner and it took advantage of lax security and
managed to slaughter 7 crewmembers. We could be looking at payback.

As I've pointed out earlier, not too many people shed a tear if a child
molester is raped in prison. So what do we know of P-Six? We know it's a
cylon. We know it's a human-form cylon that have higher authority. We
know it acted as a spy and agent within the colonies who aided in the sneak
attack and genocide - although we don't know its precise mission. We also
know it killed 7 members of the Pegasus crew.
So, no, I don't feel particularly sorry for it.
