LOL! I'm a big classic BSG fan (love the look, the feel, the hope it
gave despite tradegy, the endurance of the humanity, etc etc etc...)
but one thing that you definitely can't argue with is that the new BSG
did last... four seasons? And the original lasted one great one.
("1980" had some good moments, but I admit, I'm biased enough to stick
around to sift that out...) :P

Classic BSG was forging ahead on some expensive high quality episodes,
and considering the times, I think did good to have one season.

Fan base grew, we had years to see what BSG meant to us all, and when a
reboot was made, they knew it would be worth keeping around for more
   than one season.

Classic fans like me didn't care for the new BSG (didn't have the look,
didn't give the hope or the fun that we loved about the classic series,
many have said it would have been AWESOME if it was just not called BSG)
but one thing I have to admit, it did get more a chance to tell a more
   full story.

At least Richard Hatch had fun working on it. So I guess the new BSG
is cool for at least that. :)
