   How to bring back Firefly in five terrible steps   
   How many times a day do you think someone tries to convince Joss Whedon   
   to bring back Firefly? The users of social bookmarking site reddit   
   wasted no time asking Whedon to get the Serenity gang back together   
   during an "Ask Me Anything" chat, and Whedon explained the ruinous steps   
   he'd have to take.   
   One of reddit's most intriguing subsections is "Ask Me Anything," where   
   people with interesting jobs and experiences answer questions posed by   
   the reddit community. This week, Whedon did one of these AMA   
   collaborative interviews, and while it was most likely to tease the   
   release of Cabin in the Woods and The Avengers, he answered all manner   
   of questions about Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Toy Story, and his feelings   
   about politics and art in general.   
   redditor wjc06 was eager to offer his plan for resuscitating Whedon's   
   canceled-too-soon Firefly:   
   Just an idea.   
   Put Firefly season 2 up as a project on Kickstarter and see how much   
   money you can get to buy the rights and make it happen.   
   To which Whedon responded:   
   Step 2: Cancel Castle. Step 3: Cancel Homeland. Step 4: Generally   
   destroy everybody's careers. Step 5: Avoid Step 2.   
   Okay, so in order to bring Firefly back, I just have to become a   
   television programming supervillain. This doesn't sound like an enormous   
   obstacle, except for, you know, the moral issues.   
   There are a few other gems from the AMA. redditor dbertie asked Whedon   
   if he ever had a hard time killing off his characters, and who was the   
   hardest one to kill. Whedon's reply:   
   I actually find it refreshing... delightful.... vaguely arousing....   
   Actually, I'm, no offense, very tired of being labelled as "the guy who   
   kills people". Shakespeare (he's this hot new writer) does it way more   
   than me, and everyone's all excited about how he, as it were, holds a   
   mirror up to nature, while I'm like the Jason Voorhees of the writing   
   community. Unfair.   
   Also, probably Buffy's Mom.   
   When one redditor complained that, during the San Diego Comic-Con Iron   
   Man 2 panel, the only audience comments directed at Scarlett Johansson   
   were "You're hot," Whedon responded:   
   All I can say is that Scarlett gets to do a lot more than be hot in   
   "Avengers". It's definitely dispiriting to have a woman play an heroic   
   role and then be reduced to body parts by fan commentary, but that can   
   only change slowly. And is.   
   And when another asked for his opinion on fanfiction:   
   All worthy work is open to interpretations the author did not intend.   
   Art isn't your pet â€" it's your kid. It grows up and talks back to   
   you.   
   Also, if you're still committed to the whole "bribing Joss Whedon to   
   create more Firefly episodes" thing, the man has now stated on the   
   record that his favorite ice cream flavor is salted caramel.
