   I got the first two of those novels and I have been meaning to get the   
   rest of them.   I like the fact that he did do those for a while, and   
   I generally appreciate the efforts of anyone to make stories for the   
   classic series.   
   And overtime you come to just take it for what it is. I mean on the fuel   
   and food issue, it seems like even in the TV run they would fine one   
   episode and in crisis the next. Just figure some time passes between   
   episodes and you have to admit it is a big fleet so those resources   
   would go quick.   
   Honestly if I was Adama I think I would have worked to seed the galaxy   
   with humans dropping them off on the habitable planets we they went   
   along. That way, something happens, humanity has multiple footholds.

   as to starting seeding colonies, the cylons were always right on their   
   asses.   
   plus they came across numerous colonial settlements and then that   
   'terran' bunch. what happened after the colonials moved on? the cylons   
   must have found them and wiped them out.   
   it seems like their only REAL hope is to finally get away from the   
   Cylons totally or run into a civilization [human or otherwise]   
   technologically advanced enough to help them battle the cylons to a halt   
   at least and preferably push them back or exterminate them or reprogram   
   them or whatever.
