   THE SAME GUY IS NOW POSTING VIRUSES IN MS-DOS *.pif FILES. DON'T OPEN.   
      
   If any experienced users find these alerts irritating please remember that   
   there are many less experienced users out there who might well be caught out   
   by these viruses and it is these who the alerts are intended for.   
      
   It is also necessary to leave the cross-posts in place as it is not   
   practicable to post separate warnings to each group.

   take much notice.

   Watch out for new subject lines for this one. Don't run *any* screensaver   
   unless you're 110% sure it's bona fide. Infected *.scr files will work just   
   the same as *.exe files and can do just as much damage.   
      
   Also, watch out for a virus masquerading as an upgrade or patch from   
   Microsoft. There's a very authentic MS page in HTML with an *.exe or *.zip   
   file attachment. This is the W32.Swen.A@mm Worm virus. Don't open this file.
