Most       ISV's became friends with each other. I know ISV's who didn't release a       product because I beat them in time and released a similar product first.       Some other ISV's contacted me to tell me they developed a product that       would compete with me, asking permission to release it. That might give you       an idea how ISV's worked together.              One of the ISV's (who became a friend) had some serious family problems       which made him almost go bankrupt. He had a product ready to be released,       but not the money, time and energy to release it. He called me and told me       about his problems and asked me if I wanted to buy the rights of his       module. To help him out I did.              It was a great game similar to TradeWars. I never released that game. I had       two reasons not to release it. First gaming wasn't my skill and I didn't       want to support a game. The main reason was that I thought it wouldn't be       fair to the ISV's who already had that kind of games in the market. They       didn't compete with my products and I didn't want to compete with theirs.              It does mean that I still have the source for a great game somewhere. If       there's a programmer out there with proven MBBS-programming skills and the       appropriate tools, I'd like to talk with him.              --       Bert Rozenberg       Stop fighting Spam, Start Ignoring it.       http://www.spambright.com       Boinng.
