I don't care if something is GUI or not and fear has little to do with it.
As i said, some people are busy, and i can understand that. Those people
ussually get SOMETHING done EVENTUALLY even if its not much. The second group
is pure lazy. Makes me wonder why they even bother.

I see it this way -- if you can't mod or draw, ask for help. If you are
busy, take your time and maybe get a knowledgable co-sysop or two to help you
with some of the work load. I feel anyone who contribuites, no mater how
large or small of a contribution, it helps the whole. Anyone who isn't here
to make friends and learn new things should just walk away. Because Ward
Christensen started the BBS as a community and i've already agreed that
regardless of ansi, html, dos, win, linux or whatever -- that true community
-- regardless of local or world wide -- is what puts the BBS Scene apart from
   the rest of the Internet.

Any asshole can run a forum. A true community has a purpose.

    > > You see it's kind of interesting. I've always hated alot of the "elite in

Unfortunately most of the remaining art scene still hasn't grown up. I wont
name names -- YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. However, there are a few who are pretty
damn laid back. Like the ones who have done ansi for my BBS (Sinistersilence,
Pazuzez, PAK, Merciful Fate gave me some of his old ANSi's from the old HTC
years ago when he took it down, before he started the new incarnation of it,
Digital Avatar [a different DA, not the current one running around. this one
was a chicago old skooler], Termninal Psychosis, Roalt and I'm sure
there were others i'm forgetting), people who haven't done art for me but are
willing to contribute to other systems when and if time allows (Tracker1,
Eli, and those are the only two I can think of RIGHT off the top of my head
although i'm sure theres alot more).

I'd like to see some examples of your work. Got any rar or zips available
   with some of your stuff?

    > well, i have asked myself, why i even run my bbs anymore. it is NOT

It's not the same but thats a good thing. Local Community still exists in
alot of places. For where it doesn't exist, thats the fault of those
communities, not anyone elses fault. Chicago still has a LARGE in person
community. Come to the Xpresit GT and you'll find that out first hand. As for
other Chicago gatherings, CBBS *still* has them (I'm planning on attending if
I can) and last I checked Omega BBS has them still as well (altho i've never
   been to one).

    > hey, you've got to admit, the inquirer has been REALLY dead-on information
    > wise, in the past few years! [deep pockets]

As for any BS you may have heard about me, i'm going to be honest and
objective even though I could be bias.

Most of the rumors (although not all) that are from the year 2000 and before
are true. I was pretty emotionally fucked up, hostile, etc... and any from
those days are prolly within 60-80% accuracy. However, I was in my late teens
and early 20's. Time changes people. I'm 27 now. About 98%+ of anything you
might hear from 2000-present is majoritively based on some scene asshole
pissed that I violated his ego and wouldn't kiss his ass and proclaim him
   supreme g0d of the universe.

Quite a few people did this so any of those who might be reading this
shouldn't feel singled out. The world doesn't revlolve around *j00*.

    > yeah, i will probably say 'fuck this' and walk away. i've been told it's goo
    > to do that from time to time, and then come back.

Thats bad to do, actually. It destablizes the scene. We've got enough roaming
"come and go" projects. We need more stable efforts.

    > i've never been much of an egotist, and i dont think of myself as 'GOD'..the
    > way some other losers have in the past.

I used to be hostile but ever egotistical. Back then I was too busy feeling
sorry for myself to develop an ego. lol

You failed in doing so. You did however succeed in making an ass of yourself
and providing for some amusement :-)

Quite a few people IM'd me about our convos. lol

Most people don't care to partake of this sort of digital joy ride at flamers
expense though. Most are read only and laugh silently. lol
