The BBS brought together people       who would not even form a friendship otherwise. From a water company worker       to a psychiatrist... all formed strong bonds and friendships.              We played games like Tradewars and Scrabble together... we helped one another       when someone's house burned. It was just an extention of the local       community.              But what can you expect from a generation who is too busy to be bothered with       knowing who their next door neighbor is? As a sciologist I can say that       everyone's social interactions are either in the cyber or at a nightclub.       The younger generation, sadly, is missing a lot of good things.              Al       --- Synchronet 3.13a-Win32 NewsLink 1.83        * Derby City Livewire - Louisville, KY - telnet://derbycitybbs.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
