From: triflemenot@beewyz.com              The Internet was fun in the 90s when ISPs were small. But once the big       telcos and cable operators smelled money in the market, they used their       huge resources to dominate and squeeze out small ISPs. And it all went       downhill from there.              We now have faster speeds, and spend more money on it, but to what end?       Youtube? Twitter? They offer little value to me.              I'm interested in old school BBS modem networking. But why bother, now       that we have the Internet? Yes, but who controls it? Telcos and cable.       And with them come government. It all seems very big brother to me.              I don't have a BBS online yet, but I plan to. Earning a living tends to       get in the way, so I can't say when. Any who have similar interests may       contact me at the email address found in the headers of this post. It's       real.                     --       Web mail, POP3, and SMTP       http://www.beewyz.com/freeaccounts.php              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
