But you are trying to force       a literal interpretation out of it, which is out of harmony with the       rest of the Bible, and the words of Jesus.              > So how does that verse support what you are trying to say.?              Jesus did not descend down to the center of the planet. But       He was in the control of the dark forces of this realm from       that time [Thursday night] until He was resurrected on       Sunday morning.              >> These are events of the highest significance that have rich spiritual       >> meaning to those whose hearts are surrendered to Jesus.       >       > That event has everything to do with Life Eternal, yet what you claim       > appears to deny the prophecy that Jesus spoke.              What Jesus said was true, but your narrow interpretation of what He said       was false. You falsely interpret what He said, and ignore the context that       He gave to it in the rest of the Gospels.              Here is some biblical context on the issue. The following texts are       all the words of Jesus, and they all say that He was to be raised on,       "THE THIRD DAY"...which was Sunday morning. (Luke 24:21)              " From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples,        how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things        of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and        be raised again the third day." Matthew 16:21              "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be        betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they       shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the       Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and        the third day he shall rise again." Matthew 20:18.19              "For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of       man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him;       and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day." Mark 9:31              "He took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things        should happen unto him, Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem;        and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and        unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall        deliver him to the Gentiles:And they shall mock him, and shall        scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the        third day he shall rise again."        Mark 10:32-34              "The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the        elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised        the third day." Luke 9:22 .              "For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked,        and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:And they shall scourge        him and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again."        Luke 18:32              The "third day" was Sunday morning. ~ Luke 24:21              According to the Bible, Jesus was arrested on Thursday,       crucified on Friday, and was resurrected on Sunday.              Those who love Jesus are extremely thankful for all that       He went through for us.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
