The point made was who did Jesus say, or command, to worship. It is really
   that simple.
Did I ignore any verses that speak about worshipping Jesus while he was here?
Nope. I looked long and hard about it. When Jesus returns to this earth to
rule all nations, he will be worshipped by men, as the ruler of this world.
With consequences upon those who do not, and blessings for those that do.

When he was here from birth, he was paid homage at birth, but men did not
prostrate themselves before him as a normal occurrence in daily life. Why was
   that so?

He was the promised one, the Anointed One. The Messiah. A fulfillment of
prophesy, and those that sought for him throughout time after he was
prophesied, did him honor as befitting the prophesies. Yet His Mom did not do
so, nor did his family. The believers in heaven will pay him proper homage
for the work he did for us. Yet He is not his Father, and he would never seek
to usurp the Heavenly Fathers place, which Lucifer sought to do.

The Kings of England, as well as other rulers in the land of note were
addresses as “Your Worship” as well. Kissing the hand or ring or
authority is also called worship, as in those of the RCC honor their Pope as
their leader. Something that no one did for Apostles.

We are called to honor, or worship him with out lives, in this world. If one
dishonors him, especially as a full part of the Godhead, he will dishonor
those people before the Heavenly Father.

Why would he? Jesus had at various times as God to show the disciples the
former Glory of Jesus, that he set aside in order to be a man. When he was
raised from the dead, there was no mistaking that by those in the know. Yet
there is no reference of them treating him any different after his
resurrection then before. Although I cannot see how they would not have
individually recognized who he really was at that point, and without any
doubt. Although Thomas acted as if he was from Missouri.
