XPost: alt.christnet.christianlife, alt.bible, alt.religion.chri       tian.roman-catholic       From: robert@no.way              There are various descriptions in scripture that leave some wondering about       how some people can be denied access to heaven who are supposedly believers       upon Jesus the Messiah. Like the ten virgins, five taken, five left behind,       and such as in the wedding feast when the King saw one not clothed properly       and so was kicked out and tossed into the Lake of Fire, as well as other       similar and varied situations.              Jesus himself has noted both in the Gospels as well as his message to the       seven churches regarding the seven churches and his warnings and admonitions       to them in regards to who will not be fit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.              In Matthew Jesus taught the parable of the seeds, which seeds take root       successfully and those that die off in various situations, with an       explanation as to why.              Now, here we are in these last days, with the mixed bag of churches/believers       many following the doctrines of men, not Jesus. Many trying to hybridize the       Gospel Message in such as way as to benefit their lifestyles and excuse away       their faithlessness as well as to enable and excuse away their carnal/fleshly       ways. To these people God has established sign posts on the highway of life       that they might take heed, as well as all of us, that we might not fall into       the pit by the cares of this worlds ways.              These scriptures speak strongly as a caution to us all that we not be caught       short.              Hence the 'to be' self reflective statement made at the outset in the subject       like of this post.              “But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye       bastards, and not sons.” (Heb 12:8, KJV)              Sadly there are many such people in these days as well as ‘christians’ in       these various NG’s.              Heb 12:3-17 (KJV)              3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against       himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.              4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.              5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto       children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when       thou art rebuked of him:              6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he       receiveth.              7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is       he whom the father chasteneth not?              8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye       bastards, and not sons.              9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which correctedus, and we gave       them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of       spirits, and live?              10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but       he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.              11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:       nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto       them which are exercised thereby.              12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;              13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned       out of the way; but let it rather be healed.              14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see       the Lord:              15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of       bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;              16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one       morsel of meat sold his birthright.              17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing,       he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it       carefully with tears.              These scriptures are seemingly deep, yet are easily understood and just as       easily denied by all those who do not walk in Love. Much like a recalcitrant       child.              V12 "which corrected" us. or, as correctors. Gr. paideutēs (S# G3810, only       here and Rom 2:20), a trainer, that is, teacher or (by implication)       discipliner (Strong).              The above Term which is relatable to chastisement, is found in V’s 8, 20,       11, etc.              G3809(Thayer)              παιδεία paideia              Thayer Definition:              1) the whole training and education of children (which relates to the       cultivation of mind and morals, and employs for this purpose now commands and       admonitions, now reproof and punishment) It also includes the training and       care of the body              2) whatever in adults also cultivates the soul, especially by correcting       mistakes and curbing passions.              2a) instruction which aims at increasing virtue              2b) chastisement, chastening, (of the evils with which God visits men for       their amendment)              Side Note here;E'VIL, adjective e'vl. [Heb. to be unjust or injurious, to       defraud.]              1. Having bad qualities of a natural kind; mischievous; having qualities       which tend to injury, or to produce mischief.              Some evil beast hath devoured him. Genesis 37:20       (https://webstersdictionary1828.com/Dictionary/evil#).              2. Having bad qualities of a moral kind; wicked; corrupt; perverse; wrong; as       evil thoughts; evil deeds; evil speaking; an evil generation.              3. Unfortunate; unhappy; producing sorrow, distress, injury or calamity; as       evil tidings;evil arrows; evil days.              E'VIL, noun evil is natural or moral. Natural evil is any thing which       produces pain, distress, loss or calamity, or which in any way disturbs the       peace, impairs the happiness, or destroys the perfection of natural beings.              Moral evil is any deviation of a moral agent from the rules of conduct       prescribed to him by God, or by legitimate human authority; or it is any       violation of the plain principles of justice and rectitude.              There are also evils called civil, which affect injuriously the peace or       prosperity of a city or state; and political evils, which injure a nation, in       its public capacity.              As one may see here in this Old English Dictionary, Evil does not mean       Satanic, not necessarily of Satan. It also speaks of troubling times, bad       things happening that disrupt ones comfort levels and so on. And many people       take this term to mean things that God never intended for us in the way of       loosening the things of Satan upon us. You drink, then drive and get into a       bad accident, all a cause of your behaviors, could easily be described as       “evil” in the old sense of the word. Evil storms, etc. Means the same       thing in the OT, as well as the NT. End of “SN”.              Many who have multiple children will have one who has been troublesome, never       listening, thinking they know everything, and live according, then act       belligerent, and eventually without proper respect and hard hearted, plus the       other things described above.                     [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
