preach the gospel, not creation. Read Paul's dialogue in Acts 17. He
spends about 30 seconds talking about the God of creation, then
transitions to the gospel. You're not even including the gospel, and
you're not going to reason them into salvation by arguing the creation
they've already rejected the knowledge of. Even those who believe God
created the universe are not saved by that knowledge.

why the Jews correctly understood Jesus was making Himself equal with God.

You may delude yourself with the notion that quoting a verse that says
Jesus is the Son of God proves He's not God, but not others.
