A lot haven’t. I know I didn’t when I prayed a "sinners prayer” when I
was a kid.
But I sure did when I was around 30-32 at a terrible time in my life. And
when I asked God for the peace beyond all human understanding, that I first
asked God about when I was about 10-13 years old, which I have written about
here on the Usenet. I asked God what it felt like to have that peace, and if
I could feel it for 5minutes. He did it, and then asked if I wanted it
permanently. To cut the story short, and I can fill you in if you wish, I
then had God on by right side speaking to me and satan on my left, speaking
to me. I opted to tell God not now, later. That was without a doubt the
BIGGEST mistake in my life I ever made.
At 30+ years of age when I was hurting so bad, and pacing, I remember shaking
my fist at God at telling him I needed that peace, right now, and not a month
later or some future time, or when he was good and ready to give it to me.
But Now! I know the spot where I was standing when he Gave it to me. Which I
can describe again if you desire, but when by body was filled with that
peace, I immediately dropped on my knees and committed my whole being to Him.
I have never looked back since.
I learned, I dealt with the issues, and it was a process for sure, but the
peace of God was always with me. He worked within me, reshaping and renewing
my mind, and he also answered prayers that some thought would never happen.
Yes, there were many prayers answered, and people around me knew of it.

Because of the Law Covenant, and also as well as Christ had not come to earth
to redeem us from the Law Covenant and set us all free from it. He had to
return to heaven in order that this same spirit that was in him could be in
all of the believers.
Jhn 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go
away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I
depart, I will send him unto you.
