   The New Commandment   
      
   31 (Jn 7:39; 14:13) When he had gone out, Jesus then said,   
   "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and in Him God is glorified.   
   32 (Jn 12:23; 17:1) If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him   
   in Himself and will immediately glorify Him.   
   33 (Jn 7:33-34; 1Jn 2:1) "Little children, yet a little while I am with you.   
   You will seek Me. And as I said to the Jews, so now I tell you,   
   'Where I am going, you cannot come.'   
   34 (Lev 19:18; Eph 5:2) "A new commandment I give to you,   
   that you love one another, even as I have loved you,   
   that you also love one another.   
   35 (Jn 17:21) By this all men will know that you are My disciples,

   Peter's Denial Foretold

   I will lay down my life for Your sake."   
   38 (Mk 14:30) Jesus answered Him, "Will you lay down your life for My sake?   
   Truly, truly I say to you, the rooster shall not crow until you have denied Me   
   three times."   
      
   [31] Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world   
   be cast out.   
   [32] And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.   
   [33] This he said, signifying what death he should die.   
   [34] The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ   
   abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who   
   is this Son of man?   
   [35] Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you.   
   Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that   
   walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.   
   [36] While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children   
   of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from

   [37] But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed

   I will go before you to Galilee."   
   29 Peter said to Him, "Even if all fall away, I will not."   
   30 (Mk 14:66-72; Jn 13:38) Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say to you that   
   this day, during the night, before the rooster crows twice,   
   you will deny Me three times."   
   31 But he said more vehemently, "If I must die with You, I will not deny You."   
   They all said the same thing.   
      
   [27] And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this   
   night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be   
   scattered.   
   [28] But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.   
   [29] But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.   
   [30] And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even   
   in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.   
   [31] But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not

   Peter's Denial Foretold   
      
   31 (Am 9:9; Job 1:6-12) Then the Lord said, "Simon, Simon, listen!   
   Satan has demanded to have you to sift you as wheat.   
   32 (Jn 21:15-17; Ro 8:34) But I have prayed for you that your faith   
   may not fail. And when you have repented, strengthen your brothers."   
   33 (Mt 26:33-35; Mk 14:29) He said to Him, "Lord, I am ready to go   
   with You to prison and to death."   
   34 (Mt 26:34; Mk 14:30) He said, "I tell you, Peter, before the rooster   
   crows today, you will deny three times that you know Me."   
      
   [31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have   
   you, that he may sift you as wheat:   
   [32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art   
   converted, strengthen thy brethren.   
   [33] And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into   
   prison, and to death.   
   [34] And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day,   
   before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.   
      
   Purse, Bag, and Sword   
      
   35 (Lk 9:3; Mt 10:9-10) Then He said to them, "When I sent you without purse   
   or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?"   
   They said, "Nothing."   
   36 He said to them, "But now, let him who has a purse take it and also a bag.   
   And let him who has no sword sell his garment and buy one.   
   37 (Isa 53:12) For I tell you, what is written must yet be accomplished in Me,   
   'And He was numbered with the transgressors.'(Isa 53:12.)   
   Indeed, what is written concerning Me has a fulfillment."   
   38 They said, "Lord, look, here are two swords."   
   He said to them, "It is enough."   
      
   [35] And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and   
   shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.   
   [36] Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it,
