   Day 317, 13 November 2025

   1) Acts 12:6-25, Acts 13, Acts 14

   Acts 12:6-25

   Peter Delivered From Prison

6 (Ac 21:33) The very night when Herod would have brought him out,
Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains.
And the guards before the door were securing the prison.
7 (Ac 16:26; 5:19) And suddenly an angel of the Lord approached him,
and a light shone in the prison. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up,
saying, "Rise up, quickly." And the chains fell off his hands.
8 Then the angel said to him, "Dress yourself and put your sandals on."
And he did so. Then he said to him,
"Wrap your cloak around you and follow me."
9 (Ps 126:1) He went out and followed him, and did not know that what
was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
10 (Ac 5:19; 16:26) When they had passed the first and the second guards,
they came to the iron gate leading to the city, which opened to them
by itself. And they went out and went forward one street.
And immediately the angel left him.
11 (Da 3:28; 6:22) When Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I certainly
know that the Lord has sent His angel and delivered me from the hand of Herod
and from all that the Jewish people were expecting."
12 (Ac 12:5; 12:25) Realizing this, he came to the house of Mary,
the mother of John, whose other name was Mark, where many were gathered
   together praying.
13 As Peter knocked at the door of the porch,
a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer.
14 (Lk 24:41) When she recognized Peter's voice, from joy she did not
open the door, but ran in and announced that Peter was standing at the door.
15 (Mt 18:10) They said to her, "You are insane."
But she insisted that it was really so. So they said, "It is his angel."
16 But Peter continued knocking. And when they opened the door and saw him,
   they were astonished.
17 (Ac 13:16; 15:13) Motioning to them with his hand to be quiet,
he described to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison.
And he said, "Go, tell these things to James and to the brothers."
Then he departed and went to another place.
18 Now when day came, there was a great disturbance among the soldiers
about what had become of Peter.
19 (Ac 16:27) When Herod had searched for him and did not find him,
he examined the guards and commanded that they should be put to death.
Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.

[6] And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was
sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before
   the door kept the prison.
[7] And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in
the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise
up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
[8] And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And
so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
[9] And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which
was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
[10] When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the
iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own
accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith
   the angel departed from him.
[11] And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety,
that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of
Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
[12] And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the
mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together
   praying.
[13] And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken,
   named Rhoda.
[14] And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness,
but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
[15] And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that
it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
[16] But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and
   saw him, they were astonished.
[17] But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared
unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go
shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went
   into another place.
[18] Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers,
   what was become of Peter.
[19] And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the
keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down
from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode.

   The Death of Herod

20 (Eze 27:17; Ezr 3:7) Now Herod was very angry with the people
of Tyre and Sidon. But they came to him in unity, and having made Blastus,
the king's personal servant, their friend, they asked for peace,
because their country was fed by the king's country.
21 On an appointed day, Herod, dressed in royal apparel,
sat on his throne and gave a public speech to them.
22 The mob shouted, "It is the voice of a god, and not of a man!"
23 (1Sa 25:38; 2Sa 24:16-17) Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him,
because he did not give God the glory. And he was eaten by worms and died.
24 (Ac 6:7; 19:20) But the word of God spread and increased.
25 (Ac 12:12; 4:36) When Barnabas and Saul had fulfilled their ministry,
they returned from Jerusalem and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

[20] And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they
came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain
their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the
   king's country.
[21] And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his
throne, and made an oration unto them.
[22] And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not
   of a man.
[23] And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not
God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
[24] But the word of God grew and multiplied.
[25] And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled
their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

   Acts 13

   Barnabas and Saul Commissioned

1 (Ac 11:22-27; 4:36) In the church that was in Antioch there were prophets
and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene,
Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 (Ac 9:15; 2Ti 1:11) As they worshipped the Lord and fasted,
the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work
to which I have called them."
3 (Ac 6:6; 14:26) Then after fasting and praying, they laid their hands
