XPost: alt.christnet, alt.messianic, alt.religion.christian.biblestudy       XPost: alt.religion.christian       From: doctor@doctor.nl2k.ab.ca              Day 323, 19 November 2025              1) 1 Thessalonians , 2 Thessalonians              1 Thessalonians 1       Salutation              1 (2Th 1:1; Ro 1:7; Ac 18:5)Paul, Silas, and Timothy,       To the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father       and in the Lord Jesus Christ:       Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.              The Thessalonians' Faith and Example              2 (Ro 1:8-9) We give thanks to God always for you all,       mentioning you in our prayers,       3 (2Th 1:11; Ro 15:4) remembering without ceasing your work of faith,       labor of love, and patient hope in our Lord Jesus Christ       in the sight of God and our Father.       4 (2Th 2:13; 2Pe 1:10) For we know, beloved brothers, your election by God.       5 (Col 2:2; 2Th 2:14) For our gospel did not come to you in word only,       but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance,       just as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.       6 (Ac 13:52; 1Co 4:16) You became followers of us and the Lord,       having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit.       7 Therefore you were examples to all who believe in Macedonia and Achaia.       8 (Ro 1:8; 2Th 3:1) For the word of the Lord sounded out from you not only       in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith       in God has gone forth, so that we do not need to say anything.       9 (1Co 12:2; Ac 14:15) For they themselves declare how we were received       by you, and how you turned to God from idols,       to serve the living and true God,       10 (Ac 2:24; Mt 3:7) and to wait for His Son from heaven,       whom He raised from the dead-Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come.              [1] Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians       which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you,       and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.       [2] We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our       prayers;       [3] Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and       patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our       Father;       [4] Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.       [5] For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in       the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were       among you for your sake.       [6] And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word       in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:       [7] So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.       [8] For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and       Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so       that we need not to speak any thing.       [9] For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto       you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;       [10] And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even       Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.              1 Thessalonians 2       Paul's Ministry in Thessalonica              1 You yourselves know, brothers, that our visit to you was not in vain.       2 (Ac 16:22-24; 17:2-9) But even after we had previously suffered and were       shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we were bold in our God       to declare to you the gospel of God amid much opposition.       3 (2Co 2:17; 4:2) For our exhortation was not from deceit,       nor from uncleanness, nor in guile.       4 (Gal 1:10; 2:7; Ro 8:27) But as we were allowed by God to be entrusted       with the gospel, even so we speak, not to please men, but God,       who examines our hearts.       5 (Ac 20:33; Ro 1:9) For neither at any time did we come with flattering       words, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed. God is our witness.       6 (Jn 5:41; 5:44) Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you,       or from others, even though we might have made demands       as the apostles of Christ.       7 (1Th 2:11; Isa 49:23) But we were gentle among you, like a nurse caring       for her own children.       8 (2Co 12:15; 1Jn 3:16) So having great love toward you,       we were willing to impart to you not only the gospel of God       but also our own lives, because you were dear to us.       9 (Ac 18:3; Ro 1:1) For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil.       Laboring night and day so as not to be an expense to any of you,       we preached to you the gospel of God.       10 (1Th 1:5; 2Co 1:12) You and God are witnesses of how pure, upright,       and blameless we ourselves behaved among you who believe.       11 (1Th 2:7) As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and commanded       every one of you, as a father does his own children,       12 (Eph 4:1; 1Th 5:24) that you would walk in a manner worthy of God,       who has called you to His kingdom and glory.       13 (Heb 4:12; Ro 10:17; Gal 4:14) For this reason we thank God       without ceasing because, when you received the word of God,       which you heard from us, you received it not as the word of men,       but as it truly is, the word of God, which effectively works also       in you who believe.       14 (Gal 1:22; 1Th 1:6) For you, brothers, became followers       of the churches of God, which in Judea are in Christ Jesus.       You also have suffered the same things from your own countrymen,       as they have from the Jews,       15 (Mt 5:12; Ac 2:23) who both killed the Lord Jesus       and their own prophets and have persecuted us.       They do not please God and are contrary to all men,       16 (Ac 13:50; Ge 15:16) forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles       that they might be saved. In this way they are always piling up       their sins, but wrath has come upon them to the extreme.              [1] For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not       in vain:       [2] But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully       entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto       you the gospel of God with much contention.       [3] For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:       [4] But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even       so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.       [5] For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a       cloke of covetousness; God is witness:       [6] Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we       might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.       [7] But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:       [8] So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have       imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls,       because ye were dear unto us.       [9] For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night       and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached       unto you the gospel of God.       [10] Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably       we behaved ourselves among you that believe:       [11] As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you,              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
