XPost: alt.christnet, alt.messianic, alt.religion.christian.biblestudy       XPost: alt.religion.christian       From: doctor@doctor.nl2k.ab.ca              Day 330, 26 November 2025 - 4th Day of Advent              1) Acts 20:1-6, Romans 1 , Romans 2, Romans 3              Acts 20:1-6              Paul's Journey to Macedonia and Greece              1 (Ac 19:21) After the uproar ceased, Paul summoned the disciples       and embraced them and departed for Macedonia.       2 When he had gone through that region and had greatly exhorted them,       he arrived in Greece,       3 (Ac 20:19; 9:23-24) and stayed there three months. When the Jews       plotted against him as he was about to sail to Syria,       he decided to return through Macedonia.       4 (Ac 19:29; 16:1; 21:29) Accompanying him to Asia were Sopater of Berea,       and Aristarchus and Secundus of Thessalonica, Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy,       and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.       5 (Ac 16:8; 16:10-11) These men went forward and waited for us at Troas.       6 (Ac 12:3; 16:12) But we sailed away from Philippi after the Days       of Unleavened Bread, and after five days we came to them at Troas,       where we stayed for seven days.              [1] And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and       embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.       [2] And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much       exhortation, he came into Greece,       [3] And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he       was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.       [4] And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the       Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus;       and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.       [5] These going before tarried for us at Troas.       [6] And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and       came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.              Romans 1              Salutation              1 (Ro 15:16; 1Co 1:1) Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ,       called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God,       2 (Ro 3:21; Titus 1:2) which He promised beforehand through       His prophets in the Holy Scriptures,       3 (Gal 4:4; Mt 1:1; Jn 1:14) concerning His Son, Jesus Christ       our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh       4 (2Co 13:4) and declared to be the Son of God with power,       according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.       5 (Ac 6:7; 1:25) Through Him we have received grace and apostleship       for the obedience of faith among all nations for His name,       6 (Rev 17:14) among whom you also are called by Jesus Christ:       7 (Col 1:2; 2Co 13:14) To all who are in Rome, beloved of God,       called to be saints:       Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.              [1] Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto       the gospel of God,       [2] (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)       [3] Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of       David according to the flesh;       [4] And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of       holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:       [5] By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the       faith among all nations, for his name:       [6] Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:       [7] To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to       you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.              Paul's Desire to Visit Rome              8 (Ro 16:19; 6:17) First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all,       because your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.       9 (2Ti 1:3; Ro 9:1; 2Co 1:23) For God is my witness, whom I serve       with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing,       I mention you always in my prayers,       10 (Ac 18:21) making request if, by any means, now at last I might       find a way in the will of God to come to you.       11 (Ro 15:23) For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some       spiritual gift, so that you may be strengthened.       12 (2Pe 1:1) This is so that I may be encouraged together       with you by each other's faith, both yours and mine.       13 (Jn 4:36; Ac 19:21) Now I would not have you unaware, brothers,       that I often intended to come to you (but was prevented until now),       that I might have a harvest among you also, even as among the other Gentiles.       14 I am a debtor both to the Greeks and to the barbarians,       both to the wise and to the unwise.       15 So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel       to you also who are in Rome.              [8] First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith       is spoken of throughout the whole world.       [9] For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his       Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;       [10] Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous       journey by the will of God to come unto you.       [11] For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift,       to the end ye may be established;       [12] That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith       both of you and me.       [13] Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed       to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among       you also, even as among other Gentiles.       [14] I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the       wise, and to the unwise.       [15] So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that       are at Rome also.              The Definition of the Gospel              16 (Ro 2:9; Mk 8:38) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.       For it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,       to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.       17 (Hab 2:4; Gal 3:11; Ro 3:21) For in it the righteousness of God       is revealed from faith to faith. As it is written,       "The just shall live by faith." Hab 2:4.              [16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of       God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also       to the Greek.       [17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:       as it is written, The just shall live by faith.              The Guilt of Mankind              18 (Eph 5:6; Col 3:6) The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against       all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth       through unrighteousness.       19 (Ro 1:20) For what may be known about God is clear to them since       God has shown it to them.       20 (1Ti 1:17; Ps 19:1-6) The invisible things about Him-His eternal power       and deity-have been clearly seen since the creation of the world       and are understood by the things that are made, so that they are       without excuse.       21 (Jer 2:5; 2Ki 17:15) Because, although they knew God, they did not       glorify Him or give thanks to Him as God,       but became futile in their imaginations,       and their foolish hearts were darkened.       22 (Jer 10:14) Claiming to be wise, they became fools.       23 (Ps 106:20; Jer 2:11) They changed the glory of the incorruptible God              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
