[Dr.       > McGee]                     McGee, J. Vernon. Thru the Bible Commentary: The Epistles (1 and 2       Timothy/Titus/Philemon). Electronic ed., vol. 50, Thomas Nelson, 1991,       pp. 173–74.              McGee noted the above, after he proclaimed the gospel that tells people       how to be saved:               “But according to his mercy he saved us.” Because Christ died for        us and paid the penalty for our sins, God is prepared to extend        mercy to us; it is according to His mercy that He saved us. And        He is rich in mercy, which means He has plenty of it. Whoever        you are, He can save you today because Christ died for you. He        paid the penalty and makes over to you His righteousness!              Why you didn't include the gospel of Christ's death and resurrection for       our sins is not evident to me. It's the power of God unto salvation       (Romans 1:16), and the content of saving faith (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). I       don't see how you evangelize someone, without telling them the gospel.              McGee, J. Vernon. Thru the Bible Commentary: The Epistles (1 and 2       Timothy/Titus/Philemon). Electronic ed., vol. 50, Thomas Nelson, 1991,       p. 172.              --       Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (†), and God       raised Him from the dead?              That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death       penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death       satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John       2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your       sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.              On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on       the name of the Lord to save you: "For 'everyone who calls on the name       of the Lord will be saved'" (Romans 10:13, ESV).              https://christrose.news/salvation              To automatically receive daily Bible teaching updates with colorful       images and website formatting, subscribe to my feed in a client like       Thunderbird:              https://www.christrose.news/feeds/posts/default              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
