Acts 13:45; 14:2). The problem is you       deny Jesus is YHWH (Lᴏʀᴅ).              Scripture identifies Jesus with YHWH, not apart from Him.              The Old Testament uses the divine name YHWH. The New Testament       explicitly applies YHWH texts to Jesus.               • Isaiah 45:23 declares that every knee will bow to YHWH. Paul        applies that passage directly to Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:9–11,        ESV).               • Joel 2:32 promises salvation to those who call on the name of YHWH.        Paul applies that promise to calling on Jesus as Lord (Romans        10:9–13, ESV).               • Isaiah 8:13–14 presents YHWH as the stone of stumbling. Peter        identifies Jesus as that same stone (1 Peter 2:6–8, ESV).               • Psalm 102:25–27 speaks of YHWH as the unchanging Creator. Hebrews        applies that text to the Son (Hebrews 1:10–12, ESV).               • John identifies Jesus as the eternal Word who was with God and was        God, and through whom all things were made (John 1:1–3, ESV).               • Jesus Himself used the divine name for Himself: “Before Abraham        was, I am” (John 8:58, ESV). The Jews understood this clearly and        attempted to stone Him for blasphemy.              So when 1 Kings speaks of “the Lord” establishing the kingdom, ruling,       judging, and exercising covenant authority, it speaks of YHWH. And the       New Testament reveals that YHWH is fully revealed in the Son.              The Bible does not present two Lords competing for identity. It presents       one God, revealed progressively, and finally revealed in Jesus Christ.              Failing to read the Old Testament through the light of Christ does not       protect biblical fidelity. It rejects Jesus’ own method of       interpretation (Luke 24:27, ESV).              The real problem is not calling YHWH “the Lord.” It's refusing to       recognize that Jesus is YHWH revealed in flesh.              --       Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (†), and God       raised Him from the dead?              That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death       penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death       satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John       2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your       sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.              On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on       the name of the Lord to save you: "For 'everyone who calls on the name       of the Lord will be saved'" (Romans 10:13, ESV).              https://christrose.news/salvation              To automatically receive daily Bible teaching updates with colorful       images and website formatting, subscribe to my feed in a client like       Thunderbird:              https://www.christrose.news/feeds/posts/default              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
