Whatever you mean by "need Jesus' ransom", it clearly CONTRADICTS what
the true and saving gospel proclaims, since in the very next breath, you
claim salvation can be "earned" through personal effort.

Notice how the FALSE GOSPEL LIAR contradicts the true, saving gospel:

“I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through
the law, then Christ died for no purpose.” (Galatians 2:21, ESV)

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your
own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one
   may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8–9, ESV)

“he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but
according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal
of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ
our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs
according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:5–7, ESV)

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you,
which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being
saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you
believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I
also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the
Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in
accordance with the Scriptures,” (1 Corinthians 15:1–4, ESV)

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel
contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have
said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel
contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians
   1:8–9, ESV)

You are NOT preaching that gospel which Paul and the apostles
proclaimed. Therefore you will be accursed. The epistles, NOT your
free-lance interpretation and twisting of the gospels, is the divinely
inspired commentary on how the gospels should be interpreted and applied
   to the church.

   --
Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (†), and God
   raised Him from the dead?

That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death
penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death
satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John
2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your
sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.

On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on
the name of the Lord to save you: "For 'everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved'" (Romans 10:13, ESV).
