XPost: alt.christnet.bible, alt.christnet.christianlife, christnet.bible       XPost: christnet.bible.study, alt.christnet.christnews       From: usenet@christrose.news              Arguments about creation do not save anyone. Scripture never assigns       saving power to winning debates, exposing inconsistencies, or persuading       people that design implies a Designer. God uses creation to render man       accountable (Romans 1:18-33), not to regenerate the heart (Romans 10:17;       1 Corinthians 15:1-4). The saving work of God operates through a       different means altogether.              The apostles understood this clearly. When Paul addressed unbelievers,       he did not linger on introductory points. In Athens, he briefly       acknowledged God as Creator, then immediately pressed toward repentance,       judgment, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Acts 17:24–31, ESV).       Creation functioned as a starting line, not the finish. Paul refused to       confuse awareness of God with reconciliation to God.              Scripture identifies only one message as God’s power unto salvation.       “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for       salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16, ESV). No argument       about origins carries that power. No critique of evolution produces new       life. “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of       Christ” (Romans 10:17, ESV).              The gospel itself remains precise and non-negotiable. Paul reminded       believers of the message by which they were saved. “That Christ died for       our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he       was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1       Corinthians 15:3–4, ESV). Salvation rests entirely on Christ’s       substitutionary death and bodily resurrection. God forgives sinners on       that basis alone.              This exposes the central problem with the message promoted by “Jehovah’s       Witnesses.” They may speak at length about creation, morality, prophecy,       or a coming kingdom. Yet they do not proclaim the gospel Christ and the       apostles preached. They do not declare Christ’s finished atoning work as       the sole ground of justification. They replace the saving message with       instruction, warning, and reform.              Scripture draws a sharp line here. A message may contain true statements       and still fail to save. Israel possessed the oracles of God, yet many       stumbled because they pursued righteousness as though it came by works       rather than by faith (Romans 9:31–32, ESV). Truth about God does not       substitute for faith in Christ.              God’s true disciples proclaim Christ crucified and risen. They announce       forgiveness of sins through Him. They call sinners to change their mind       and trust in what Christ accomplished. Anything less leaves people       informed but unforgiven, aware but unredeemed.              Creation points upward (Psalm 19:1; Romans 1:20). The gospel brings       sinners home (Luke 15:7; 1 Timothy 1:15).              --       Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (†), and God       raised Him from the dead?              That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death       penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death       satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John       2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your       sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.              On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on       the name of the Lord to save you: "For 'everyone who calls on the name       of the Lord will be saved'" (Romans 10:13, ESV).              https://christrose.news/salvation              To automatically receive daily Bible teaching updates with colorful       images and website formatting, subscribe to my feed in a client like       Thunderbird:              https://www.christrose.news/feeds/posts/default              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
