   I think what happen might be right int he sponge part of th epenis with the   
   respect to the brain in limbo function and the rest of the body having to   
   catch up.   In fact it maybe twice over the reason for it not concluding in   
   reality for sometime to be later reactivated when the full body is living   
   with alt he organs enough not just blood flowing.  The sponge may because of
