   Orwell almost certainly had a love-hate relationship with Kipling. Malcolm   
   Muggeridge, friend of GO said that whenever he tried to discuss Kipling, GO   
   would just laugh and change the subject. Muggeridge interpreted this as a   
   sneaking admiration which GO didn't want to admit to.
