It's the same old same old selene: students have discovered the vices of the
people who set their agenda back in the 60s: ally yourself with any old
genocidal villain just as long as you all hate American and England. Orwell,
contrary to Rennie rantings, was onto this very early.
I've just spent a week in Brighton and one day went in a charming little
shop that sold musical instruments (mainly exotic ones) I was buying my g/f
a little accordion. Anyway, the man running it was very new age, very left
and aged about 50. He was soon into a rant against America, England, the
British empire, christianity, civilisation and even reason itself. Behind
him, on a wall, was a whacking great poster of Castro in his more youthful
days, lighting a cigar. Yeah, I tittered all right. I asked him how he could
be selling such a nice little accordion so cheap and he told me it was
because it was made in China by people on about forty quid a month. I asked
him why didn't he boycott the selling of slave-made musical instruments, but
between his coughing and his mobile going off I never did get to the bottom
   of it.
