   The version pushed by the "Solidarity" group in England in the seventies   
   and probably later was that Trotsky personally led the Party members   
   (from the Congress taking place in St Petersburg) in an attack on the   
   rebel marines in Kronstadt. The military abilities of the party members   
   may be doubted, but they certainly set an example for the Red Army,   
   which Trotsky had built.
