From: WORD_UNDERSCORECHEMIST@HOTMAIL.COM              Seeing Bayley Boy's post below got me to thinking. The Iraq War destroyed       this newsgroup--among other things--as has been noted before. But many       abg-o-ers still lurk. May I ask what their position is now? I don't suppose       anyone has changed their opinion but you never know. Me, I still think the       invasion was the right thing to do; I hate totalitarianism like the next       Orwell fan and think that the least the superrich, free world can do is bust       these regimes out and give ordinary people a chance to live free from the       various Mullahs, gangsters and ideologies that bedevil countries like Iraq,       but I assumed that Washington and the US Army had some idea of what came       after the initial hoo har.        As people say: Never Fuckin' Assume Anything. Cheney, Rumsfield and Bush       are a trio of dumb fucks and the US Army's commitment to handling the       occupation by overwhelming firepower playing Audie Murphy, instead of the       diplomacy and limited force used to great success with the British Army,       have put a match to the tinder box. The mooting talk of cutting and running       reveals the architects of the invasion as having a level of crassitude and       irresponsibility that beggars belief because they all know full well that it       will become an Islamic Fascist State in five minutes flat and nothing will       have been achieved at all, except that old family score that the wanky       lefters and jack ass TV stoners keep going on about will have been settled.       Big price.                     ROBBIE              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
