You can disagree, but Orwell himself would take objection to your views
since he stated it very clearly in many of his letters and non-fiction
writings written right up to his death. He's very clear in his essays
that he viewed real socialism as substantially different than the
communism of the USSR and held that view until his death. The human
owners the animals rebeled against were the representatives of the right
[note the transformation of pigs into acting almost human in their
oppression of the other animals]. Pick up a copy of "Homage to
Catalonia" to see how his views of "real" socialism vs communism came
about [ie the treatment of the Trotskite POUM and anarchists- which he
joined- given to them by their USSR supported communist "allies"].

Also read his essays, letters and articles, especially those written near
the end of his life. Orwell was so brutally critical and honest that he
slayed sacred cows across the political spectrum to the end and hated
totalitarianism of any kind. Read some biographies as well and you'll get
a more complex picture of the man. If you've never read his essay
collections you're in for a real treat.

A copy of his last sets of non-fiction writing:
