It interests me how the average leftie cannot face or take criticism of the
BBC without recourse to weak, jeering sarcasm. A better tactic-for those who
don't mind or think that it's all grist to the mill of the Great Journey to
the Sunny Uplands-would be just to admit it for the evidence is their every
day. If pointing this out doesn't provoke weak, jeering sarcasm it usually
provokes condescending lectures about 'Fox News'. I have never seen Fox
News, nor do I want to. I'm English. I don't want news with a Right Wing
bias, I want what the BBC purports to give: rigorous, impartial programming.
I don't want a left wing agenda peddled pretty remorselessly across the BBC'
s content. That wouldn't be healthy on a commercial channel; in a
corporation funded the way the BBC is, it is disgraceful and any grown up
person, on any side of the political debate, will agree more or less.
Unfortunately the left has more of its fair share of superannuated
teenagers, as the above post shows.
