   Maybe this is one: remember how the past literature was rewritten to current   
   reflect events? If the Party knew about the book (and they had to have   
   known about it), then they would have 'rewritten' it to reflect their views.   
   So maybe, the book Winston read was O'Brien's Party version of Goldstein's   
   tome and then it would be a fake.
