   I disagree, John. Bayle played hard and could be spiteful (as I could I);   
   but he had some very good points that the Loud Left here never convincingly   
   refuted. The loudest Lefties here infuriated me many times with language   
   games that Orwell would not have approved of and by airily sending people to   
   Coventry because to disagree with the conventional Left's hymn-sheet meant   
   that what people said was infra gravis cogitatio: a cold-blooded and   
   distinctly Stalinist trick which is now a standard debating tactic of the   
   Left (as a Communist, you will not be bothered one jot about that). They do   
   it still on the blog they created to replace this newsgroup--they control   
   and censor debate there in a way they longed to but could not here. The   
   discussion over there is correspondingly dull.
