   Yes, but...even in military or continental or railroad time, whatever   
   you want to call it, the clocks don't _strike_ 13. I have always seen   
   that as a deliberate distortion of accustomed 'normality', just as with   
   that rock-n-roll guy (was it in 'Spinal Tap'?) whose volume control went   
   up to 11.
