|    BBC LXXXV: Chaos in the 'community'.    |
|    19 Aug 05 12:48:51    |
From: NNNN@LLL.COM              A classic piece of Leftist BBC Bias on the BBC London news at lunchtime       (19th Aug). Karl Mercer was interviewing the head of HM Prison Brixton, who       says his prison is an overcrowded shithole that causes prisoners to       reoffend. As matters stand, I don't doubt what he says. The BBC gave him a       loving and long slot to say that he thinks that most prisoners can be 'dealt       with' in the 'community'. 'I want to go out of business,' he said.        Crucially, no opposing view was given. Mercer did not even report an       opposing view e.g 'critics say the result of this policy will be increased       mayhem in an already chaotic 'community' and that answer is to build more       prisons, take back control of them from the inmates and run them       properly...'        In effect the slot was more like a political broadcast than a piece of       journalism.              This is unacceptable.              ROBBIE              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
