Unfortunately it's coming on. Yesterday, there were two pictures on the
   front of the Independent (currently the British pansy-left's Der Sturmer);
one was of the Broadwater Farm Council Estate in 1985 the PC Keith Blakelock
was hacked to death; the other of the same area now: all, it seemed to the
graduate lefties who run the Independent, was sweetness and light. The
headline was: Who Says Multiculturalism Doesn't Work?
It was, like so much contemporary leftist thinking on race relations,
dangerously specious. Trevor Phillips, the head of a pointless quango called
the Commission for Racial Equality (the crowning acheivement of those on the
Left who have worked sedulously for forty years to create mutual suspicion,
ghetto-mentality and an overweening and misplaced sense of victimhood and
indignation), has been leant on by his master, T. Blair, to shut up about
multiculturalism. In an astonishing volte-face, Phillips, who several years
ago said: 'The British Empire was founded on the principles of Nazism,' said
two days ago that actually it was a good thing that brought races together.
This is the quality of the top management end of the Left. All of whom
believe that these nonenities with explosive rucksacks have a tremendous
   point.
I don't hold out any hope for London. It's seriously ghettoized and that
is the fault of the Left and their adolescent spite for their own culture. I
feel sorry for a lot of immigrants because a great deal of them are decent
people trying to get on with their lives and all they have is upper middle
class socialists (and Ken Livinsgtone and various agitators) telling them
they are the pathetic victims of imperialism.
I'm going to read the Koran. As Harold Bloom said in The Western Canon in
1994: the book must be read simply because of the huge role Islam will play
in all our futures. Ignorance of the Koran is dangerous.
Meanwhile, in Islington and the West Coast, the happy clappers and
Pollyannas dance on. Enjoy yourselves, it's later than you think...
