   actually its a bit more complicated than that   
   the kurds have a functioning secular government in the northeast   
     the sunni arabs. embittered at losing their traditional hegemony   
   are hovering    beteween compromise (democratic participation)   
   salafi  chaos, and reactionary saddamism   
   while the shiite majority is on the brink of creating   
    the first arab shiite state for 900 years   
      
   and everybody, except a very, very few sunni arabs, is happy to see   
   saddam in the dock
