   of all that - (Village Green Preservation Society), horror of tories (Arthur   
   or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire), horror of statism (Muswell   
   Hillbillies), total grasp of the crassness of the media landscape plus an   
   acute understanding of mental illness(Everyone's in Showbiz) and the killing   
   repetition and tedium of the suburban capitalist grind (The Kinks Present a   
   Soap Opera).   
      
   Definitely would have been Orwell's best rock and roll band if only for Dead   
   End Street.
