   I haven't seen the film all the way through nor was I completely sober at   
   the time- I find Geldof gives me severe indigestion. It wouldn't surprise me   
   if they chose it as the totem of evil old England; fighting fascism's one   
   thing, man, but really, calling a dog that, man... I read a funny interview   
   with the Floyd regarding The Wall. The drummer said that when dour Roger   
   Waters brought the idea to them they privately: "...looked at each other and   
   said, 'oh christ, he we go again: the war, his mother...'"

   One of the things lefties are fond of saying is that 'PC's finished. It all   
   finished in the 80s' Which is not only utter and total bollox (you ain't

   but simply code for 'move along please there's *nothing* to see here, move   
   along there...'. In England we are firmy in the grip of this and the trend   
   isn't getting better: David Lammy, the arts minister, proposes for example   
   that 29 per cent of londoners are ethnic minority therefore thirty per cent   
   of museum curators should be from ethnic minorities - even though the   
   required people with the relevant kowledge and interest are currently not   
   around according to Mr Lammy, therefore people must be fast tracked, ie   
   bribed and corrupted - while others more qualified are ignored - into an   
   education and a job that they're not terribly interested in and - thanks to   
   the academia - will arrive in the job with a headful of left-wing cultural   
   politics and mind to inplement them. That's how socialism works, which is   
   why it fucks everything up the arse. I have no doubt that they will for   
   example have all the paintings out of the national gallery in the end. It   
   will only take a couple more generations at the rate we're going. We'll have   
   Sharia law by then so it will the least of our problems.
