From: word_chemist@hotmail.com              The firm that designed the Ballardian blandscape of Milton Keynes is now       going to do it to Najaf in Iraq. If any atrocity in Iraq will sentence       England to years of terrorism and resentment, it will be the dreary and       enervating postmodern shopping malls and office slabs that will be erected       over the ruins of something better in that benighted city.       The planners, I note, are not actually going to Iraq but will run the       project through 'remote control'. Martin Crookston, who is charge of the       scam, said on Channel Four News that 'the architects will respect traditions       and local cultures and practices'. Wow, they haven't done that in Britain       for a very long time.              http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4725742.stm              For an example:              http://www.miltonkeynes.g-br.com/tour/tour78.html              ROBBIE              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
