   The police chief in Jaws knew a great white shark was on the prowl and   
   wanted to make the news public and the mayor and corporation didn't because   
   they knew it would kill the tourist trade on their island.

   Bluffing what? I said that your citing of An Enemy of the People doesn't   
   make your aphorism (well it isn't an aphorism because I don't think it makes   
   a generally true point) correct.
