   Hi all,

In "Oysters and Brown Stout," (Tribune, 1944) Orwell wrote,

"G.K. Chesterton said once that every novelist writes one book whose titles
seems to be a summing-up of his attitude to life. He instanced, for
Dickens, *Great Expectations*, and for Scott, *Tales of a Grandfather*"

According to this, then, what title would you choose for Orwell himself out
   of his own books?

I favor the original title of 1984, *The Last Man in Europe*" (I understand
that one has been used for a drama about Orwell's life - see
   ), or perhaps
   *Coming Up for Air"

   Any other nominations? :)
