I didn't say that and you KNOW FULL WELL i didn't. I remember this form of
argument from teenage years well. It won't wash.

Aside to the rest of the newsgroup: Does Mizz Bridegam's retort wash?

   Cos I don't think so.

Are you really trying to railroad this into a tired false dichotomy
Berekelyade about homosexuality? Loads of homos fought bravely in ww2 - I
dare say some fought, fucked *and* wrote poetry. This isn't about hoooomoooofooobiaaah. They didn't write fancy-arse stuff about
dictators and then run off for an extended saturnalia in America while their
fellow countrymen actually did the job. Auden did. He didn't actually want
to do anything about it. That was my original point and I'm sticking by it
because I think it's right. Orwell had his number on this subject when he
   spotted 'necessary murder'.
