   For some reason, three anthologies of Orwell's essays have recently   
   been published, and that has given one Julian Barnes, a novelist (I   
   see from the WITS column), an occasion to publish an article about him   
   in the latest NYRev (http://www.nybooks.com/articles/22414).  In view   
   of its purpose, it is written for people who know little about Orwell,   
   but it does contain some amusing gossip.  It also gives me an occasion   
   to post something about Orwell on this newsgroup, from which, for the   
   time being, the pests have evaporated.
